We are excited to announce that Team Chandler is gearing up to spend this summer living and ministering in Uganda! Jason will be working out of EMI’s Uganda office near Kampala to help develop new WASH initiatives, and will be helping lead a project to serve I Live Again Uganda in the development of a ministry center called the Potter’s House. I Live Again Uganda is an indigenous ministry serving people through trauma counseling and holistic restoration in post-war northern Uganda. Through the Potter’s House, they have vision to bring various mental health therapies, detox, counseling facilities as well as vocational training.
It was on a short term mission trip to Uganda in 2007 where God first began reveal His plan for Jason in international missions as an engineer. We are excited that we now get the opportunity to share this experience of ministry in Uganda as a family. Additionally, we hope to get involved in local ministry opportunities with some of the other EMI families near where we will be living.
We need your prayers and support as we get ready. Over the past several months we have been trying to get our support to a healthier level and have been seeking new monthly partners to sustain us in this work. We have made great progress and God has continued to provide for our immediate needs, but we have not quite reached our goal in new recurring support.
Taking our family to Africa for the summer comes at an additional cost, but we know that God will continue to provide for us to do the work that He is leading us to do. In fact, we are very pleased to report that He has already provided the generous supporters we need to cover our airfare costs! Now we are looking to raise approximately $3,500 to cover the remainder of our expenses for our time in Uganda. This goal can be achieved through special gifts or by helping us meet our ongoing support needs through increases in monthly giving. With just 12 monthly partners between $50 and $200 per month, we will not only meet our needs for our time in Uganda, but we will also be fully funded in our ongoing support.
We would be glad to get in touch with you if you are interested in hearing more. We are extremely grateful for your partnership in the work that God is doing through EMI and we look forward to sharing with you about our experiences in Uganda!
